Improvement Inside And Out
Shopping Greenly
And Morally
Shopping is a good time to make
some lifestyle changes. For example, when shopping you can select the greenest
alternatives that are available to you, like purchasing produce that was grown by
using the least amount of chemicals as feasible, grown locally and shipped
over a short distance to lower the quantity of fuel that is consumed during
the process of transportation.
Other things that you can do include purchasing
clothing, and goods that are made out of organically produced materials,
vintage or second hand goods and those that are made out of biodegradable
materials. You can also purchase items made from recycled goods.
When shopping it is vital to think about the moral issues
associated with the production processes, such as how the people and animals
were treated, whether or not the producers, workers, farmers, and suppliers that
are a part of the production chain are provided with decent working conditions,
and are paid fairly. Avoid purchasing goods that are produced in a sweatshop, or
by using child labor.
If you are concerned about the welfare of animals then you
should purchase dairy products and meat that come from animals that are raised
in a humane environment rather than in cages and pens that are overcrowded.
