Choosing A Laminate Floor To Suite Your Needs

Laminate Flooring is the fastest growing flooring in the industry. Our lifestyles have change so much since our parents day that real hardwood wood be very expensive to maintain.

Laminate flooring is very durable and attractive and will stand up to the change in our lifestyles and will do so will little care..

Laminate flooring is well known and liked for its ability to not stain, fade, dent and is far more scratch and water resistant than the real hardwood floors. The exception is entry level laminate floors that are basically designed for light traffic areas. An entry level laminate placed in high traffic areas will start to show wear within 5 years or less depending on the traffic.

In order to save money make sure you purchase laminate flooring that suits your need. If you plan to move soon then there is no need to buy a high end heavy duty laminate floor as flooring is usually the first thing people change after moving into a new home.

Laminate floors come with cores that range from 6mm up to 12mm. If you want a stable core than choose a thicker core, because there is less buckling and they sound much like real hardwood when you walked on them.. If you are replacing your bathroom or kitchen with laminate floors you will want a good quality. The main thing with good quality is the core has been treated with a water repellent and you will find them resistant to water which makes them an excellent choice of laminate flooring for these room. Another thing to keep in mind for these rooms are your impregnated joints. Impregnated joints have paraffin wax that acts as a water repellent and helps to prevent any water that happens to spill onto your floor from penetrating right down to the core.

When choosing a laminate floor for these rooms be very careful to check your warranty as some warranties will not recommend use in these rooms and will not cover your flooring if anything happens.
