Bathroom Cabinet Design

I  can tell you from experience that the easiest way to brighten up and change the bathroom is to install a new vanity.

Here is a little thing you might be interested in. Go to your local home improvement store and get a couple of different cabinets. You can  get different kinds and for example you can have the one holding the sink jut out about 4 inches and that will give you an interesting look and add to the appeal of the room.

A counter that is designed to follow the  extended cabinets look very rich and elegant.

You see straight countertops and cabinets and rounded ones but how often do you see cabinets and counters that jut out.

This should not be too hard to do as vanities and cabinets come in many different  sizes, styles and colors.

Another little tip I want to pass on is that if the cabinets need to be screwed together remove the drawers and doors. This will make things a lot easier for you. You will have more light and the drawers and doors will not be in your way and possibly getting marked up. Some doors and drawers will remove with a leaver others you will have to use a screwdriver.

I normally use clamps that have rubber heads so that the finish is not marred.  I like to hold the cabinets together with
clamps in an exact position  before I start to screw them together. Make sure you are using the correct size screw so
that you are not ruining the outer finish.

Now you want to make sure the cabinets are level. I know that the walls are often not square or is the floor level especially in older homes.  You can buy tapered shims from your local home improvement store. You can use the shims to level the cabinets  on the floor and behind the cabinets to help square then against the wall.

Put on the countertop and hook up the water and you have remodeled bathroom.
